We recorded 2 songs during this session. Jamie is a bit of a perfectionist and it’s always a pleasure to work with him. This session followed the multi-track method of recording. We recorded a guide guitar and vocal to a metronome click track, then recorded the drums, and the guitar and vocal tracks over that. The guitars were recorded through Jamie’s Mesa head driving my trusty Marshall 4x12 and mic’d with a Shure SM57. We did try a few other mics to make sure that we’d made the right choice including large diaphragm condensers but still we came back to the 57. A couple of the guitar overdubs were recorded using the Guitar Amp software plug-in that is part of Logic Pro.
